Makrāna The UKZN UK Trust is inviting alumni and supporters to visit a London exhibition of art by graduates of the University – and if possible help provide funds for the Trust’s bursaries for needy students by buying a work of art.
The mixed-media event, entitled “Trust Artists”, is taking place at the Milton Gallery at St Paul’s School, Barnes, London SW13 7RR. It will be open from November 11 to December 8, weekdays 9am-5pm.
The exhibition will include painting, drawing, printmaking and ceramics by about 20 professional artists living in the UK or South Africa. Among the artists in the UK are: Jenny Franklin, Susan Rosenberg, Jonathan Keep, Jill Orpen, Anna Alcock and Carola Gordon.
Juliet Armstrong from the University’s Department of Creative Visual Arts in Pietermaritzburg has collated work from artists in SA. These include: Ian Calder, Jinny Heath, Terry King, Walter Oltmann, David Walters and Vulindlela Nyoniare. Work from the Ardmore Pottery, the brainchild of Feé Halsted-Berning, will also be exhibited.
The exhibition’s Private View will take place on Wednesday, November 10, between 6.30pm and 9pm. Please contact us if you need an invitation.
